The TNC series product is a threaded variant of the BNC connector, distinguished by its screw-thread mating mechanism. These miniature, threaded, and waterproof units maintain a consistent 50 Ohm impedance and operate within the DC to 11 GHz frequency range. There are two main types of TNC connectors: standard and reverse polarity. Typically made from die-cast and molded components, these cost-effective connectors are well-suited for various commercial applications despite their performance falling short of industrial or high-quality standards. TNC connectors are extensively used for antenna connections and have diverse applications in avionics, communications, and the general industrial sector. Additionally, reverse polarity and 75 Ohm variants of TNC connectors are also available.
